Here's how I moderate each new request for joining a Sage mailing list. When I get to the moderation page, I don't click on the approve button. Instead I click on the email address of the person requesting to join. This would lead me to a new page that has some default settings for the new member. I would make sure that the new member would be moderated for their first message to the list. This is important because sometimes when I follow the above process, I would get a page that would set to approve by default all messages of the new member. This is a no-no and is I think one of the factors that contributes to spammers getting their mail through. Here's an important message for any list manager: Always click on the email address of the person requesting to join. This would lead you to a page with default settings for the new member. Carefully review the default settings for that member. -- Regards Minh Van Nguyen -- To post to this group, send an email to sage-devel@googlegroups.com To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to sage-devel+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel URL: http://www.sagemath.org
