Hi,

Just a clarification -- I was editing my reply in a big hurry and put
"Surely not" to something else, and I accidentally moved it to your
question about whether Cython would work or not.     In fact, I don't
know whether or not (or to what extent) Cython would work; it depends
entirely on what the gcc binary includes...
