Recently, Travis Oliphant posted to the numpy list about starting a
foundation to support scientific python software development:
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.python.numeric.general/46232
They set up a mailing list here:
https://groups.google.com/group/fastecuhla
I post here because (a) I'm sure there are members of the Sage community
that are interested in this effort, and (b) Sage was mentioned at least
once as a project the foundation would be concerned with (see
https://groups.google.com/group/fastecuhla/browse_thread/thread/620f2a8a541bf267).
Anyways, this is just a heads-up for anyone interested in participating
in the discussion. Just subscribe to
https://groups.google.com/group/fastecuhla
Thanks,
Jason
