I use terminal windows of different width (though at least 80 columns), and hence would prefer a *short* prompt, on a *single* line, as well. > > It seems nice to have a clear reminder that we're using a subshell The Sage subshell prompt will (currently) almost always differ from the user's default one (even the second line). Shortening Sage's and perhaps appending just e.g. "sage>" would IMHO suffice. [And please: No color prompts or the like by default! We could support SAGE_SHELL_PROMPT or similar, which of course would depend on the shell, so maybe SAGE_BASH_PROMPT etc. If we had that, I could live with having some ugly longer prompt by default, i.e., if SAGE_BASH_PROMPT isn't set.] -leif -- To post to this group, send an email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to [email protected] For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel URL: http://www.sagemath.org
