According to createspace, 92 copies of the Sage tutorial *and* the
calculus book Differential calculus with Sage have been ordered
in the past year, generating $243.30 in royalties for the Sage
Foundation. It is hard to tell using the format they give, but I'm
guessing that
the calculus book sold at most 1/5-th what the tutorials sold, so maybe
75 tutorials were sold?

I think this might be more of a question for sage-marketing, but
it seems to me that there would be more copies of the tutorial sold if
it was marketed better, so I don't know how useful these numbers are.
(Not that I know anything about marketing.)

Though slightly off-topic, I have a book that uses Sage to discuss
the Rubik's cube and similar puzzles. An older version is on-line (with
the publisher's permission). I'm told that book was the highest selling
math book that Johns Hopkins University press sold about a year
or so ago. I don't know if that has changed recently or not. In any case,
JHUP is publishing Marshall Hampton and my book on
Differential equations and Sage (which is CC licensed), so I guess
they are making some money on the deal.
