My impression is that the only way to build software for Android is via *cross compiling*. It would be extremely difficult to cross-compile Sage (at least requiring rewriting key parts of build systems, etc.). With a Linux chroot running on Android, you get the full compiler suite and no cross compiling is needed, so it is much more viable. So far this seems to have only been done once -- by Carl Witty -- back when the Google Nexus One phone came out (the first Android phone). I got pretty far recently, but then my tablet completely totally crashed, and I lost everything on it. I intend to try again, once I can get a fully working chroot Linux with enough space installed on it, which is surprisingly tricky. > > On 17 dic 2011, 16:34, Julien Puydt <julien.pu...@laposte.net> wrote: >> Le 04/12/2011 20:09, Julien Puydt a crit : >> >> > I have successfully built 4.7.2 (with my special spkg, of course) ; it >> > took about 30h -- but there was an ICE so I had to re-launch make at >> > some point. >> >> I had no use for the box for a few hours, so I tried make -k ptestlong. >> >> Log attached. >> >> Snark >> >> ptestlong.log >> 251 KVerDescargar > > -- > To post to this group, send an email to sage-devel@googlegroups.com > To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to > sage-devel+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel > URL: http://www.sagemath.org -- William Stein Professor of Mathematics University of Washington http://wstein.org -- To post to this group, send an email to sage-devel@googlegroups.com To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to sage-devel+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel URL: http://www.sagemath.org
