I posted the same failure two days ago to the relevant trac ticket,

It's curious that my failure and the other two reported here were all on 
laptops. On several non-laptops, things have worked fine for me. 
Coincidence? Or is there something about the laptop architecture which is 
causing the problem? Has anyone seen this failure on a desktop machine?
