Most software projects need specific versions of their dependencies, but that doesn't mean they ship all of them, especially when there are almost a hundred of them. A configure script checking all is well before the compilation and a testsuite checking all is well after compilation is all it takes...

Well, sage won't ship any docutils newer than 0.7 without fixing its doc to cope with it, I guess?
