Normally I hate anyone who tries to sell me something to give me "peace of mind", but neveretheless I find it very reassuring indeed that all my code, data and papers are safely stored on github/bitbucket (not to mention large numbers of clones of the sage repository) and not dependent on my own hardware, or even my university's backups!
