PS: one may find some details about the implementation of SageManifolds in the slides <http://sagemanifolds.obspm.fr/doc/sagemanifolds-ERE14.pdf> of a presentation I gave three weeks ago at a conference in Spain. In particular the slide #25 shows the structures involved in the storage of tensor fields.
