Nice arcticle! I totally agree with his comments about Matlab. It was written as fast Fortran interface and still has this feeling. Object oriented programming is a joke in Matlab. I used Matlab 2009 and measured 1ms(!) time for access to one simple class member. (Comparison: Pyton needs some µs) I have to laugh if they sell OO programming courses in Matlab ...
