Hi, i am volonteering to help in the task of maintaining this service a minima. It is very important to be able to maintain such community services that people used to trust. For sagenb.org, some public worksheets are now linked from research papers and we should keep them alive.
Concerning public worksheets: - iirc, there was some javascript spam in some of them so we have to clean them first anyway. - it is quite important to keep them accessible with the same url as before as long as possible (perhaps redirecting to some subdomain of sagemath.org at some point). - for long-term maintenance, it should be easier to serve them as static (html or rst) files, instead of running a bitrotting instance of sage notebook, even readonly. - /pub should be available to robots, so that they can be archived at least on https://web.archive.org/web/http://sagenb.org/pub/ - since /pub was not available for some time, it should be easy from the webserver logs which worksheets are linked from seomewhere (webpages, articles, lectures,...). Concerning private worksheets: - a possibility could be to pack the rst version of worksheets for each account and provide a download link to each account owner. - is the e-mail addresses of registered people part of the database ? Is there a way to contact people registered via a service such as google ID (i never use such services so i have no idea) ? If it is the case, we can automatically contact each owner with a link, some hints to other services, and a deadline to fetch the tarball (there is no reason to keep private worksheets eternally).
