I as an European understand that You, W., are an American, but I still maintain the idea that universal practicalities that do not depend, that much, on the culture. For example, if different merchants at a market were advertising that the merchant next table sells shit in stead of pointing out the unique features of their own offering, then would You like to walk at that market in the role of a customer?
I agree that the price and closed source restrictions of Mathematica and sometimes its speed, I also like to add lack of stability, are an issue. As a matter of fact the main reason, why I started to look for alternatives was to find a way to make it possible for me to cheaply ship some math engine supported web applications as a freelancer. That's how I found http://www.reduce-algebra.com/ and the Sage project. Given the speed and stability issues of Mathematica I would not use Mathematica, even if it were for free (which it currently is for Hobby use only http://www.wolfram.com/raspberry-pi/ ), but that is no reason to create a negative advertisement. Again, it's not for me to tell other people, what they should do, but I would not publish this video. I would replace the dirty (true, but still dirty) talk about Mathematica there with descriptions of Sage unique features, may be even with some deep-mathematical details that only a few mathematicians in the world can understand.
