A simple plot of the cotangent function has been failing since version 7.2. I opened a Trac ticket for this a week ago:
https://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/21365 The plotting method reports that it is unable to convert a complex to float for this function, even though the functional values look real in both Sage and Pynac.
