Thank you Jean for the update! Since we last spoke I have updated the Windows build of Sage a couple times--mostly to fix some minor issues.
I have heard mixed results about Windows 7 but it's helpful to have a sense of its prevalence. The last person who reported testing on Windows 7 reported success, but I've heard others report failures. I suspect the failures may be due to running 32-bit versions of the OS. While there are 32-bit versions of Windows 8 and Windows 10, they're probably pretty uncommon since most people with Windows 8/10 are getting them included on new machines which are almost all 64-bit. However, 32-bit Windows 7 still seems to be fairly common (even on 64-bit hardware). I spent some time the week before last trying to get Sage working on 32-bit Windows. And while I can get it to work *nominally* there are some technical challenges related to the more limited address space that might be difficult to overcome (see https://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/22186). Previously I said I would set that issue aside for now. And in fact I do need to prioritize other things, like getting continuous builds on Windows running. But your testimony does suggest that the issue deserves further examination.
