Hi everyone!

I am a final year student of computer science. I am thinking of creating a
package for symbolic matrix calculus in sage as final year project. I would
like to implement these identities
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matrix_calculus#Identities> and
simplification rules for matrix calculations. Since I am new to Sagemath, I
have these questions in mind:

 i) I don't want to reinvent the wheel, is there a package which have
implemented it already?

ii) My motivation to implement is that I will learn matrix calculus and
show something quantitative as well for degree :) . What is the expected
difficulty level for me If I know multivariable calculus (calc I II and
III) and linear algebra at the level of hoffman and kunze. Is it too
trivial for an year long project? Too hard?

I would appreciate expansion of this idea if it is trivial for an year long
project. Also suggestions are welcome.

PS: I am new here, so I may be violating some rules, sorry in advance.
