Great! Those are perfect uses for Sage.

Not at all. Python is widely-known for how easy it is to learn. Lots of times, I'll even write pseudocode in python since it's so natural to read and write.

Definitely. There are lots of places (more every semester) that are using Sage to teach classes. I've used it for years in different classes, for example. There are also beginning to be lots of workshops and other opportunities designed to help faculty learn Sage and integrate Sage into their classrooms. For example, there is an MAA PREP program running this summer with that goal, and I believe there are some MAA workshops at Mathfest this week, for example. People are increasingly developing and sharing their curriculum materials as well.

A fantastic place you should ask about Sage in education is on the Sage Education mailing list, which is devoted to discussing Sage in the classroom and education. It's easy to sign up:

I've also CC'd this reply there.

Another place to ask for more general help is sage-support:

Thanks, and welcome to the community!
