For 3rd-8th grade math (up to exponents/power) all can be quite easily done with js, and later i think about sympy. Now the html of equation is written by hand, but it could be automized/generated from infix. I know http://www.dragmath.bham.ac.uk/, but it just helps compose formulas, but not - _transform_ them according to math rules. I also know that some math packages can show steps, how to solve equations.
