Greetings -

I am a system administrator for the Department of Mathematics at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. One of our graduate
students
asked if we could install SAGE for his use.

SAGE seems to be quite a comprehensive package. With a lot of
capabilities and 'hooks' into other mathematical programs.

However I do not have the time nor the expertise to install and
'tweek' a
half-gigabyte software package. Because SAGE includes versions of
GAP,
Singular and PARI (amongst others) I am not comfortable installing it
on
our server. A software upgrade of one of these packages might cause
SAGE
to function in an uncertain way.

It may be possible for us to install SAGE on a separate machine. And
allow our student, and possibly others, to ssh in and use it's
capabilities. I was wondering if anyone else has done such a thing.
Or
if I could be put in touch with any IT people responsible for
installing
and maintaining SAGE.
