Hello Anton,

the problem is not compiling Sage, but getting it to pass its test
suite. Even before the libSingular problem, i.e. Sage 2.5.3 or so Sage
never worked 100%. I did describe the problem in a detailed post
earlier, but somehow Google groups seems to have eaten it. If it shows
up you can read it then :)

Anyway, we would love to have Sage compile *and* work on Cygwin again,
but nobody has that on the top of their list of things to do. Provided
William gets funding for this we will throw some resources at a native
Sage on Windows, but that hasn't happen yet, and it is difficult to
get funding to port mathematical open source software to Windows with
MSVC.

If you are willing to work on this let us know, we are certainly
willing to get you started. The best way to do this is in IRC at #sage-
devel on freenode.
