Hello, we do not even know if we will apply for gsoc 2018 and furthermore, we even less know if sagemath will be part of GSOC next year.
Therefore I would wait until there is something concrete to write a proposal for. >From a technical standpoint, I don't know if this makes sense to work on in the current scope of sage.
