Hello Mentors, My name is Mark Paquette, and I am a sophomore Computer Science and Mathematics double major at Bowdoin College. My entire career I have loved learning about the overlaps of math and computer science and now I am thrilled to find an organization that perfectly embodies that.
In the field of mathematics, I have taken courses in multivariate calculus, linear algebra (a course in which I used Sage), math reasoning, probability, combinatorics, and graph theory. While on the side of computer science, I am familiar with data structures, algorithms, java, python, and I have been briefly introduced to javascript and html. I was most interested in the proposed "Plane partitions and alternating sign matrices" project, since combinatorics is my most recent class and I have been interested in learning more, but am curious to see if any mentors think I fit another project better based on my provided background. Thank you to all the mentors for taking the time to work with us on such a great program!
