Built from the tarball on OS X, 10.6.8 (Dual 6-core Xeons) and 10.10.3
(Quad-core Core i7).
On 10.6.8, build completed w/o problems and all tests ('ptestlong') passed!
On 10.10.3, build failed on r-3.1.2.p0:
