If I'm reading this message and the one in the link correctly, the  
common
problem is that the wrong version is being downloaded.  The 'G5' uses  
the
PowerPC (ppc) processor.

In any case, I have no problems on my G5 with the binary for Mac OS X  
that
I downloaded from the SAGE website.
