Some potentially relevant thoughts:
(1) Your question doesn't make any sense because building
SAGE requires exactly 1 process.
(2) "2GBS!" -- what does that mean?
(3) You say "The server runs Debian Linux.". Why don't you
just install the binary that is here:
http://sage.math.washington.edu/SAGEbin/linux_32bit/
Download that file and type
tar zxvf sage-2.3-debian-i686-Linux.tar.gz
