Building from source would work, and doing "sage -upgrade" might work.
But there is a better solution.

OK, I deleted /usr/local/lib on my build machine, and built a new SAGE-2.7.3
binary from scratch.

Please download the file here and try it instead of the one you had before:

        http://www.sagemath.org/SAGEbin/apple_osx/intel/

The filename is the same as before, but the contents are different:
bsd:~/sage-2.7.3/dist was$ md5sum sage-2.7.3-i386-Darwin.tar.gz
cd278e64721144f1b10829be3d253547  sage-2.7.3-i386-Darwin.tar.gz
