Why?  Can you be clearer?

You cannot edit or vandalize anybody else's pages.  You can only edit *copies*
of them.   You can edit your own then republish it by clicking publish again.

Clicking "Edit a copy" lets you edit a copy.

If you edit the original that you published then click publish it will
update the one that you originally published.

If things don't work like that it's a serious bug.
