Instead do
./sage -bdist some_name
and make the file dist/sage-some_name.dmg available.
You can then delete SAGE_ROOT/dist.

2. What happens if you type
./sage -maxima
3. What happens if at the Sage prompt you type !maxima

4. Do you have fink installed on your computer?
5. Are you using Macports?
