Stas, I guess I'll have to build from source but I'm forwarding your e-mail to
[sage-support] where it has a better chance of being answered properly.

Cheers,

Subject: SAGE installation

   Hi Martin,
   I try to install SAGE on 64-Bit AMD Opteron 242 with Gentoo release
1.12.11.1. As I see there is no binaries for Gentoo in your Downloads. I
tried sage-3.0.1-arch-64bit-intel-sse2-x86_64-Linux.tar.gz, but then I got
problems like
<type 'exceptions.ImportError'>: /lib/libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_4.2.0'
not found (required by
/var/tmp/sage/sage-3.0.1-arch-64bit-intel-sse2-x86_64-Linux/local/lib/libstdc++.so.6)

Can you tell me which binaries might suit me best? Or maybe you also have
binaries for Gentoo somewhere...

       Stas.
