Indeed, I completely agree that QQ is completely baffling, for me definitely. There is some documentation here: http://www.sagemath.org/doc/tut/node22.html But the best thing is to do QQ? in sage. Sage has very good docstrings. Maybe, if you are interested, it'd be awesome if you could contribute to Sage docs. Sign it to sage-devel, there are many people who would help with it.
