The system was likely not loaded unless it was loaded by the fact of having run the test suite. Another possible consideration is that I was running remotely via ssh - X. I'm not sure what "interfaces" means, but could it possibly be relevant that I might not have had some system level permissions that I would have from the console? I waited until I was at the console to re-run it, and from there it passed with no message except "all tests passed" in 27.7 seconds. So I guess it's looking good.
