More specifically, unless you you need to install XCode (http:// developer.apple.com/technology/xcode.html). You may already have it on your install disk, from which you can put it on your computer, or it might be somewhere in your computer but not unpacked yet; otherwise it is downloadable for free (though you do have to sign up for a newsletter). You want to make sure you get a fairly new version, because some older ones were buggy (see the link Jaap pointed out for more details on this).
