I try to install Sage on my computer by means of the pre-compiled
binaries : i downloaded the the tar.gz file from
http://www.sagemath.fr/linux/32bit/
for the 32 bits Ubuntu distribution and then I ran the sage script
file within a shell and i got the following :

cand...@candide-desktop:~/sage-3.4.2-linux-Ubuntu_8.10-sse2-i686-Linux
$ sudo ./sage
[sudo] password for candide:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
| Sage Version 3.4.2, Release Date: 2009-05-05                       |
| Type notebook() for the GUI, and license() for information. |
----------------------------------------------------------------------
/home/candide/sage-3.4.2-linux-Ubuntu_8.10-sse2-i686-Linux/local/bin/
sage-sage: line 198:  7916 Instruction non permise sage-ipython "$@" -
i

This tells that the line 198 in the sage-sage file is not allowed.
Rather cryptic for me, please help!!
