Hi,

I've been trying without results to run sage 4.1.1 on my Dell inspiron
6000 laptop running Ubuntu 9.04.

I tried both the pre-compiled file tar download files for Ubuntu as
well as for Debian lenny; both return with

frede...@insp6000:~/sage-4.1.1$ ./sage
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Sage install tree may have moved.
Regenerating Python.pyo and .pyc files that hardcode the install PATH
(please wait at most a few minutes)...
Do not interrupt this.

sage-ipython "$@" -i

My CPU is as can be found from the dmesg is
CPU0: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.73GHz stepping 08
