Some people prefer that sort of matlab-like IDE, and have asked if Sage has one. I tried it out with Python(x,y) and it seems nice for that purpose. In order for it work with Sage, I guess someone would have to create a PyQt spkg, a QScintilla2 spkg, and a Spyder spkg, or bundle them together. Since most Sage developers use either the notebook or the Sage emacs mode, I don't know if anyone will do that though.
