I unfortunately have no answer for you, but would like to affirm that
this is not a one-off error!

I saw it probably eight months ago, though just with one of my own
builds.  The problem was Singular versus singular, both of which are
somewhere in the library.   I couldn't fix it, though, and had to
build again from scratch.
