Thank you!  You are right!

In fact I am not using files but list of strings, but I guess that's
the same for csv.

So, then I have to think what I can do to cut my strings in smaller
pieces before sending them to csv.

One question: Is my impression right that list(csv.reader([s]))[0] is
often faster than s.split(',')? Or is it a stupid idea to not use split
(',') for that purpose?
