My best guess is that mixing Sage 4.3 and 4.3.1 with Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6 can be problematic. As you know, Sage versions prior to 4.3.1 were unstable on Mac OS X 10.6 due to how Python was compiled on that platform. As of Sage 4.3.1, Python is now configured to properly compile on Mac OS X 10.6, which got rid of the annoying bug tracked at ticket #7095 [1]. One solution would be to use Sage 4.3.1 for all your Mac OS X 10.6 machines, or indeed for all your Mac OS X machines. Hope that helps.
