Thanks.  Emptying the trash worked.

I do a good deal of my work in Windows Journal, so I need to use
windows a lot, so it's easier to run my browser in windows rather than
ubuntu.

I'd prefer to move to linux entirely (already set up dual booting),
but I only found one journal/note program for ubuntu (Xournal), and I
didn't much like it.
