VMware != VirtualBox (you're confused about that above). Anyway, you could try using this new VMware-based Sage install instead: http://wstein.org/home/wstein/binaries/sage-vmware-4.4.alpha0.zip To run it, you need to get the free vmware player from vmware.com.
