Compiled from source on Gentoo Linux.

I am trying to get an array to show show properly in the notebook.
if I execute the following code:
input:
a=np.ones((3,3))
a
output:
array([[ 1., 1., 1.],
[ 1., 1., 1.],
[ 1., 1., 1.]])
which looks right to me.
However, if I use the show(a) command, I get:
[[ 1. 1. 1.] [ 1. 1. 1.] [ 1. 1. 1.]]
Shouldn't that show up as a 3x3?
