In three different Mac browsers (Safari, Camino, Firefox) the two- column display of an index page such as
http://www.sagemath.org/doc/reference/genindex-A.html has a white background when first displayed, but scroll to the right and the new area has a dark blue background. This makes reading the index difficult.
