Wow, that is pretty bad. I wonder if the person who made this binary had a G5, not a G4? You should try a 10.4 PPC binary, if there is one - they *should* be forward-compatible. See "NOTE: the OS X 10.4 binary works fine on OS X 10.5.", and note that it's a more recent version of Sage than the 10.5 one. It's also conceivable that this binary had a problem. But what? Next, luckily, it's really easy to compile Sage on Mac. Your computer could take a while with that, though - what is your processor speed and memory? Finally, if you just want to try out Sage, I highly recommend one of the public notebook servers, such as sagenb.org, just to see what it can do. Let us know if you have more troubles!
