python not found? ... weird! ... type python in terminal u'll get python
interpretor all gnu/linux have it.

if u don't mind just paste a few lines of ur errors ... that would be very
helpful ...

as u have downloaded the binaries why don't u do system wide installation by
moving sage folder to /usr/local/bin ...
(it is mentioned  http://www.sagemath.org/doc/installation/source.html the
last segment follow only step 2 and 4 , step one is compilation in your case
which is already done ....)
