It shouldn't be too much faster once Maxima is started up - the first
integral will be longer because the Maxima library has to initialize,
but after that it should be quite fast.    But I haven't done any
timings.

I don't know.  I suspect others have ideas; my guess is that Maxima is
the most fully-featured when it comes to integration, because it has
the biggest head start.   I'm not sure who the main sympy devels are
currently...
