What really needs to be done is getting rid of the LD_LIBRARY_PATH hack 
that continually hurts us and setting rpaths for every shared library. 
See http://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/10572 for a step in that directory. 
Then "make bdist" will just rewrite them to be relative. chrpath works with 
ELF, so on osx we'd need another solution.
