%python does not resolve this problem unfortunately.
I understand that "pre-parser" is a difficult problem.
I tried the following, which works.
r('library(ggplot2)')
r('p <- ggplot(mtcars, aes(x = factor(cyl))) + geom_bar()')
r('plot(p)')
