in /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.8/../../../x86_64-linux-gnu/libffi.a?
Can you check your log to verify that sage compiled its own gcc?
Which Debian version is this anyways?
Its weird that you don't have a libffi shared library, if you have root you
can try apt-get install libffi-dev
