William's right. The threejs() command in the sage cell initially used SMC's code, but it's gone through an overhaul, and I think SMC's original code also has a lot of changes since then.
William, how do you do it in SMC? Do you basically do something like https://github.com/mrdoob/three.js/issues/989#issuecomment-3320653 ? (set preserveDrawingBuffer to true, and then call toDataURL()?
