Well, you need to install the binutils package from testing (jessie). This will give you a sufficiently recent assembler. I didn't check how much more need to be upgraded if you take a binary package, but you can always build the source package instead, and install it. It's a sufficiently well-documented procedure, but feel free to ask if you get stuck.
